about

Originally released in 2010, this is a brutal offering of oppressive electronics and queasy atmospherics from Krister Bergman of Sweden. "The Order of the 36" is a grim reworking of material sourced from Bergman's own long running industrial / power electronics project DEMONS THAT DROVE, each sound carefully mangled to form the horrifying abomination presented here. Frightening voices burrow beneath a crackling swarm of apocalyptic distortion, a gurgling wave of anxiety spirals into pure, shuddering cacophony.

"Recorded in the living room under heavy pressure and with poor behavioral controls w/ various tools, electronic equipment, guitars, water, and lack of empathy."

The album has been unearthed from the dusty LUS archives, digitized and mastered from grimy magnetic tape, and finally put forth to live on in all of it's over-saturated, hiss laden glory, a triumphant rebirth into this fearsome digital age. Coated in grit, for cultural posterity.

Initially released as Lighten Up Sound #022 on limited edition cassette. Real time duplicated black shell C-30 with screen printed red & white labels came packaged with lacquer sealed red vellum J-card and linen cardstock insert. Edition of 50.

"...You know how sometimes a club that doesn't usually do noise puts on a show and you get to spend the whole night watching the poor sound guy shit himself as the speakers and power amps are pushed to the extreme? This is the stuff of sounds guy nightmares. Heavy, brutal and literally destructive." -Demian Johnston
